On November 15, Azerbaijan and Turkey signed an agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation and expanding tourism ties between the two countries.
The document was signed by Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, and Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.
The agreement emphasizes key areas of collaboration, including information exchange on hospitality, tourism legislation, and statistical improvements, as well as gastronomic tourism, tourism education, and investment promotion.
It also outlines plans for media tours, familiarization trips, events, and seminars, the development of joint travel routes, and coordinated marketing and promotional activities to boost tourist flows. Additionally, both countries commit to working together on the preservation and promotion of natural and cultural heritage.
Between January and October 2024, the number of Turkish visitors to Azerbaijan reached 357,615, marking a 16% increase compared to the same period last year.
